Vroemen wins Arnoud Magnin Wintercross 2006February 5th 2006 - After an injury-forced 4 month break in racing, Simon has started his competitive season again with a victory in the Winter Cross Country race in Zeegse, near his home town of Gieten. Although a relatively local race, the competition was ideal for Simon to test his initial form again after such a long period of injuries and training. "I am not surprised to win this race, but am happy with they way I felt. I am certainly far from top shape, but on the other hand, I am already further than I thought", Simon said after the race. The race is organised by a team of people around local track and field coaching legend Arnoud Magnin, who fell ill last year but fortunately could still be present at the racing scene to support the runners.
